What’s the deal with tuition-free schools?

Amazingly, there are a few colleges that are able to offer degrees to students at little or no cost. However, other fees may apply. For example, at University of the People, students must pay for their exams, and will need to budget up to $150 per test. Other schools, such as College of the Ozarks and Berea College, require students work a certain number of hours per week to cover the cost of their schooling. This type of arrangement might be right for students who want to get work experience under their belt while they study. Some schools may also require students live on campus during their tenure as a student and pay those costs.
