Are all online schools accredited?

This is a very important question. The simple answer is no.  It is imperative that you do your research before attending an online school to be certain that it is nationally accredited and also, that the courses you take from this college will transfer should you choose to attend another college or university.

Be sure to steer away from schools that are not accredited as they are sometimes labeled as “diploma mills” and they sell degrees that are worthless and will not offer any type of financial aid or advancement opportunities.  Only accredited schools are eligible to receive federal and state financial aid.

For the most part, just visiting the univerisity’s website will let you know on the home page whether they are accredited or not as most want this information to be very clear. If you have any doubt, you are strongly encouraged to contact the school.
