Of the 10 campuses within the University of Hawaii system, Hilo is most definitely the shiniest hidden gem of the bunch. Chaminade University is the only Catholic institution of higher education and is also only 1 of 3 Marianist schools in the United States. Rocky Mountain College has been educating students since 1878 and is the convergence of 2 other colleges from around the state—Montana Collegiate Institute and Wesleyan College.
